NasalRX in New Zealand: The Only Provider

Musculoskeletal Solutions, operating from our Kaiapoi clinic in North Canterbury, is the only clinic in New Zealand offering NasalRX (Cranial Facial Release). Patients travel from across New Zealand, including Auckland and Wellington, to access this treatment.

If you have chronic headaches, post-concussion symptoms, sinus congestion, breathing difficulties or head pressure that other treatments have not resolved, NasalRX may be the option you have not yet tried.

What is NasalRX?

NasalRX, also known as Cranial Facial Release (CFR), is a non-invasive, non-surgical endonasal procedure. A small balloon is gently inflated through the nasal passages, stimulating micro-structural movements in the nasal cavity and cranial bones.

The treatment is:

  • Non-surgical and non-invasive

  • Carried out in a 30-minute session

  • Applied across six nasal passageways

  • Performed without anaesthesia or significant downtime

The initial protocol for most patients is a series of five treatments. Some patients with long-standing structural fixation may benefit from a second series.

What conditions may NasalRX help with?

NasalRX has been used at our clinic to address a range of head, sinus and neurological conditions. Patients who have found the most benefit include those dealing with:

Concussion and post-concussion syndrome

Post-concussion symptoms — including head pressure, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, disrupted sleep, light sensitivity and persistent headaches — can persist for months or years after the initial injury. NasalRX works at the level of cranial bone motion and nasal structure, which conventional concussion management does not address. It is not a replacement for acute concussion care, but for patients with persistent post-concussion symptoms who have not found resolution elsewhere, it is an approach worth exploring.

Chronic headaches and migraine

Many patients with long-standing headaches have a structural component that standard treatments do not reach. NasalRX addresses the cranial and nasal structures involved in certain headache patterns, including sinus headaches, chronic daily headache and headaches with associated facial pressure.

Sinus congestion and breathing difficulties

For patients with chronic sinus obstruction, nasal congestion or restricted nasal breathing, NasalRX offers a non-surgical alternative. ENT balloon sinuplasty — the surgical equivalent — costs between $3,000 and $20,000 privately in New Zealand. NasalRX is significantly less expensive and does not require surgery or sedation.

Sleep apnoea and snoring

Nasal obstruction is a contributing factor in many cases of sleep-disordered breathing. NasalRX works to open the nasal passages and may reduce the structural restriction that contributes to snoring and some forms of sleep apnoea.

Head trauma and facial injuries

Following facial trauma or head injury, the bones of the skull and face can become restricted in their normal micro-motion. NasalRX addresses this structural restriction.

Other conditions patients have explored this treatment for:

  • Vertigo and tinnitus

  • Facial pain

  • Brain fog and fatigue with a head or sinus component

  • Trigeminal neuralgia
